United for clean beaches with Eneco Clean Beach Cup

An unforgettable edition of the Eneco Clean Beach Cup has once again come to an end. At the main location in Blankenberge and across no fewer than 16 sub-locations, countless enthusiastic participants joined forces to tackle litter on our beaches.

Thanks to the dedication of more than 2,200 participants, we collected no less than 3,000 kg of waste — a fantastic contribution to a cleaner planet! A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped give our nature a well-deserved boost. Under the first rays of spring sunshine and fueled by your contagious enthusiasm, it truly became another edition to remember.

Get ready for a new edition and a refreshed approach in 2026. Behind the scenes, preparations for the next edition are already in full swing! Mark your calendar: 22 March 2026 for our small-scale kick-off event at one location, and 13 September 2026 for the major Eneco Clean Beach Cup event taking place across all participating Belgian coastal cities.

Here’s a little sneak peek: in 2026, you’ll find us once again on both sides of the Belgian coast — with ECBC events taking place on both the West Coast and the East Coast. We’re gearing up for an edition that will get the entire beach moving!

Be sure to keep an eye on this website, as well as our Instagram and Facebook pages, for more updates in the coming weeks!

We are returning to Blankenberge in 2025! Blankenberge Beachclub will be our main location this year. Get ready for the biggest and most fun annual beach clean-up in the country. Remember 2023? Then Blankenberge was also our main location and we let seal Billy set off on his adventure back into the sea after several weeks of recovery at the Sea Life centre. Maybe he will come and say hello ;-) By the way, did you know that we are organising a Belgian Durfing Championship this year? And are you now like ‘Durfing? What the hell is that!' Then be sure to take a look at our social media because there we shared what durfing exactly is and how you might even become a Belgian champion at it by competing against none other than Arno The Kid! Will we see you there? We'll already provide a clean-up package for you.

Eneco Clean Beach Cup home

Eneco Clean Beach Cup has been marking the first spring weekend since 2010. Together with many partners, surf and beach clubs and volunteers, we roll up our sleeves and dig into the sand in search of waste.

A cleanup campaign more than needed if we want to give our marine wildlife a chance.

But Eneco Clean Beach Cups mission goes beyond just one action. Being an NGO, we strive each day to reach long-term solutions through open dialogue and international collaborations. Accessible and for everyone.

ART WITH ENECO CLEAN BEACH CUP TRASH

With Eneco Clean Beach Cup, each year we pick up tons and tons of trash from our Belgian and Dutch beaches. A crucial act for the animals and surfers who spend many hours on those exact beaches. This year we collectively cleaned up over 5,000 kilograms of trasj. The majority of that trash gets recycled with the help of our long time partner Renewi, but this year we kept a portion of the trash for a special project...

Plogging - WePlog - What?

Plogging. It's an amalgamation of the Swedish words 'plocka upp' and 'jogga'. The second word is obvious and means jogging. Plocka upp means to collect or pick up. Combined, this then becomes Plogging and means picking up waste while jogging (or walking 😉).
